SUSTAINABLE NUTRITION - CONTENTS

SUMMARY

How to build a sustainable healthy nutritional lifestyle:

  1. Eat Foods you Enjoy – The more enjoyment you have from your nutritional lifestyle, the greater your level of adherence will be.
  2. Know Calories in food – When you know the calories in your current foods, you can then look to balance those calories to fit within your body composition goals (fat loss/ muscle gain)
  3. Adherence – Physiological changes take time. You need to be consistent over months for the changes to be sustainable.

ENJOYMENT

Love food – The more enjoyment you have from your nutritional lifestyle, the greater your level of adherence will be. Try different foods, meals, spices and flavours and find out what you enjoy preparing and eating.

We can’t think of anything worse than trying to survive on boiled chicken and broccoli!

The fastest way to move away from healthy eating is to try and restrict foods that you enjoy. Did you know that there are some people who haven’t eaten a hot chip for over 10 years! For most people, life would not be worth living without the pleasure of a hot chip at the beach in summer.

So don’t remove any foods completely, just be conscious of the number of different foods and eat all foods in moderation.
